Just Checking In!

Business continues around here and yesterday my 10-year-old, Joanna, and I suffered a tragedy. Running late to pick her up from school, I jumped in the car and didn't see my sweet kitty of 16 years, Priss either darting into or out of the garage and I ran over her. I had to scoop her up and place her on the back step and by the time we got home, she had died. So this morning I am still grieving as I prepare to head to work.

I promise I am working on some mini endeavors and also preparing for a Bring Your Own Art show with some of my quilting/fiber arts pieces. I will be back soon and running around checking in on everyone. I hope you all are well and I miss you. I'll be with you soon!

Oh my God Jody - how horrible. I am sooooo sorry. To lose a pet at any time is a tragedy but how hard it must have been for you to have to pick her up. You must have been devastated. I am sure that Pris is now at Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting for you.

What an awful event, I am sorry for you and your poor cat but I do not understand why you did not take her to the vet or stay with her until she passed away?

Thank you all for your kindness and sympathy and Chris, if you come back to find out, I knew she was dying, moved her out of the rain into the garage and had to pick up my child. There was nothing that any vet in the land could have done when my mini van drove over her. If you have children, you realize I was already late picking up my child and had no choice but to run get her. Priss was essentially gone before I left.

I am glad you did, Chris. Believe me, I was overwhelmed with guilt, sadness, disbelief and grief and I did cradle her for a moment before I had to lay her down and speed to pick up Joanna and then had to prepare her for seeing Priss gone on the back step. It was a difficult event but she was 16 years old, they say we are going to have a harsh winter; her brother had died last year and I won't have to worry about her being out in the elements although she had a little house on the back porch. She had always been an outdoor cat and though we tried to bring her in a few months ago, she was not litter box trained. So, she is no longer going to suffer cold or pain. But we miss her.
